As a few of you know Steve and I have been discussing adoption for some time. We had decided to put in an application in January to adopt a child from China. However, in
December 2006 China announced some new guidelines for adoptive parents to go into effect
1 May 2007. With this announcement we had a decision to make...
a) Wait until our fifth anniversary 22 October 2007 or
b) Rush rush rush to get our dossier to China before the 1 May deadline (along with several other fence sitters I presume)
We really didn't want to wait almost a year before starting the adoption process and with Steve being a British National getting all our paperwork for the dossier in such a short time would be near impossible if not entirely impossible. Besides did we really want to be in a mad rush with loads of other families? Not really when there are children all over the world in need of loving homes...so I started researching our options. When I came across Viet Nam we knew this was going to be the road we would travel.
